The first World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) hosted in Indonesia in 2018, offered a forum for policymakers and industry players to exchange ideas, resolve challenges and identify opportunities within the creative economy. This year, the UAE hosts the second World Conference on Creative Economy 2021 with the world’s thought leaders, aspiring creatives and innovators at EXPO 2020 Dubai.
Over three days, a large global community of entrepreneurs, creatives and policymakers will come together in person and virtually, where they will be joined by world-leading speakers, thinkers and policymakers. This is the place to collaboratively and practically engage with the future of the creative economy, helping to build it on inclusive, responsible, and human-first foundations.
WCCE 2021 will see the key players and game changers from around the world come together in the UAE on a dynamic platform to engage with one another and take concrete steps towards a more sustainable creative economy. As the pace of innovation and technological disruption continues to accelerate, WCCE 2021 is a unique forum and an ideal opportunity to share knowledge, analyse trends and debate ideas.
We welcome you to join the conversation at WCCE 2021!
Liberating potential through cross-disciplinary learning
Without evolution, education risks becoming stuck and inflexible. To prepare for a rapidly transforming future, evolutionary changes are needed, releasing the full power of education. Creative thinking and adaptive skills can unlock connected disciplines. In the creative economy, education unleashed and inspired by imagination is our most important asset.
Connecting people, ideas & places
As automation reduces repetitive and commodified work, the demand for human creativity and critical thinking are set to increase. Yet as the need for higher cognitive skills increases no one can predict how and where they will be applied. We can, however, imagine possibilities and prepare accordingly, rethinking and reworking our collaborative approach to work itself.
Applying creativity to release the positive power of technology
The world is navigating through the 4th Industrial Revolution at a drastic speed. As the physical and digital merge, humans and technologies are also blending - in societies driven by social media, automation and new realities. It will take creativity, imagination and agility to map out sustainable paths forward, using the transformative power of technology to turn disruption into enlightened progress.
New ways to convey & consume content
New capabilities are transforming how we work, play, learn and communicate. Traditional communication models are being demolished by social and new media, whilst shared experiences are becoming more valued than asset ownership. Multiple entertainment channels & digitally-driven AI/VR have already opened up new possibilities, whilst blurring boundaries. Now the advent of 5G is set to create a metaverse, shifting a blended world further online.
New thinking for responsible living
Human creativity is the key to better ways to live harmoniously & holistically. After years of treating nature as something to be conquered, we are moving slowly towards a shared belief in co-existence. Individually, collectively, societally and globally, our creativity can be harnessed to reduce harmful impacts on the environment, whilst improving the human condition. Making the future truly sustainable.
Harnessing creativity to help build inclusive, diverse societies
Everyone in a responsible creative economy deserves the same opportunities to take part and succeed. Inclusive economies are enriched by diverse thinking and an array of innovativethinkers: creativity expands through diversity. To progress, entrenched opinions and self-interest need to be challenged. Equally, universal participation and new voices should be welcomed, protected and celebrated.
We’re excited to come together for an unforgettable event, filled with knowledge, inspiration and creativity!
